This is the problem most of the laptop users suffer once or more. Here is a simple solution of it . Follow the instructions in exact order :
i.)Shutdown the laptop

ii.)Disconnect the AC power supply
iii.)Remove the battery from laptop
iv.)Connect the AC power supply and turn on the laptop
v.)Go to Control Panel & goto Device Manager
vi.)Under Batteries ,right click Microsoft ACPI- Compliant Control Method Battery and uninstall it.
vii.)Shut down the computer
viii.)Remove the AC power supply
ix.)Insert the battery and connect the AC power supply again
x.)Turn on the computer ( Microsoft ACPI- Compliant Control Method Battery will be automatically installed,if not ,go to device manager and click scan for hardware changes)
xi.)Problem Solved. :)
